Background
I bring a rich and broad background to this work. I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from UCLA with a specialty in child development and family dynamics. I have advanced training in parent child issues and have consulted with local preschools on child behavior problems.
Over the past decade I specialized in issues related to media and families in conjunction with a project at the University of Washington and the Washington State PTA.
I also have extensive experience as a trained parent-teen mediator, enabling parents and teens to talk out their differences in a safe environment. I work with parents and teens using a mediation model as well as just with parents of teens in consultation.
Having raised three children in Seattle, I have 25 years of hands-on, practical experience. This includes experience with the educational, parenting and mental health communities in the Seattle area.
