Vicki Schoettle, M.S.W., A.C.S.W Parent Consultant & Mentor

Testimonials

From the mother of young teens:

Vicki has been a fantastic resource during times when my husband and I have needed a fresh perspective on parenting issues. In one case, we were in a dilemma about how to handle our fifth-grader's request to move out of the excelerated academic program he was in back to our neighborhood school. Vicki helped us weigh our son's social/emotional and academic needs and come up with a process that included our son in the decision and resulted in a good outcome for us as parents and for our child.
Vicki has also helped my husband and I sort through our different discipline and parent-child communication styles, which had been a source of family conflict. And as our daughter has entered puberty, Vicki has given us resources that have helped us support her through a pivotal time in her life.
I really appreciate Vicki's expertise as a family counselor, her experience as a thoughtful parent, and especially her caring and non-judgmental style. Vicki never gave us the impression she was there to "rescue" us; rather, she empowered us to think through situations, and with thoughtful guidance, helped us become stronger, more confident parents.

From the mother of a 4 and 1 year old:

Working with Vicki helped me be a more confident parent. She was able to observe and point out strengths our family has that we can build on. And it worked! Simply having someone say "you are on the right track, keep going," was so helpful and reassuring.
I also take comfort in knowing I can call or meet with Vicki when new issues come up. She is a part of our family support network. I would highly recommend her coaching services to any parent.

From the mother of a 3 1//2 year old boy and 1 year old daughter:

Vicki Schoettle came into our home and observed our family dynamic at the most difficult time of our day.  She had practical advice, ideas about changing the behavior in our three year old son, and very useful parenting strategies.  Vicki recommended a few books that directly addressed our needs.  Her positive impact on our family was immediate and lasting.

From parents of a 5 year old and 5 month old sibling:

Even beyond the wide breadth of knowledge and experience that Vicki possesses, what we continue to appreciate is having an unbiased, third-person who really knows our family dynamics and our children well, and can lend us the needed strategies for solving our most difficult parenting obstacles at any time.
